Gourouni

The shift from the realistic to the imaginary operates here as a rupture within the perception of the familiar. The form begins with something recognisable, almost tangible, and gradually moves into a more liberated, more childlike world where logic no longer defines the boundaries of the image. Rather than choosing between reality and fantasy, the work allows both to coexist on the same surface, as two ways of seeing the same existence.

On the Work

The wheat is not treated as a realistic depiction, but as simplified colour forms. The large magenta shapes strip the landscape down and turn it into something more direct and almost childlike, where colour matters more than detail. The image therefore leans more toward imagination than reality.
