Artist statement
My name is Kristina Tzeortziana Karagianni, and through my work I explore memories, moments, and images from a time or an instant that has faded away. I often return to images from childhood, as I believe that within them lies the heart of the adult self.
Through my personal experiences, I perceive the world as a vast puzzle of images that, no matter how disconnected they may seem, always carry a story. Memories of innocence are, for me, a defining element in shaping both individual character and society itself.

My practice
My works often appear bright and cheerful due to the intense use of color and the distinctive palettes I choose. However, the subjects I explore are not always easy or pleasant. I work with acrylics, oils, pastels, charcoal, and mixed media on canvas, paper, and wood, creating multilayered images that enhance memory and evoke the fluidity of time.
My goal is to establish direct communication with the viewer and create a meaningful dialogue, emphasizing understanding and personal interpretation of the work. At the same time, I have created interactive works that invite the viewer to actively participate, to “play,” and to engage in a dialogue both with the artwork itself and with the audience around it.
