Don’t stare
The work explores the tension between exposure and interiority, where the act of looking ceases to be mere observation and becomes a force that shapes the presence of the other. The figure does not function as a passive object of the gaze, but as a subject negotiating her own visibility.
The hand placed over the chest suggests a bodily form of self-protection, a silent act of reclaiming the self in response to external perception. The work thus situates itself within the psychological space between seeing and being seen.
Within this condition, the image becomes a site of negotiation between intimacy, control, and vulnerability ,where the gaze is never neutral, but active and charged.

Notes on the Work
Light gently falls across the face, shaping a calm yet strongly present sense of intimacy. The illumination brings forward the youthfulness of the features, the warm pink tones of the cheeks, and the subtle summer atmosphere that permeates the scene.
The gaze holds a sense of ambiguity, both captivating and elusive, reinforcing a delicate tension between closeness and distance.
