Mad world
The child figure exists in a moment before knowledge, at a point where the world has not yet been fully revealed. The newspaper becomes a symbol of a reality already present but still distant and unreadable, a world of information, events, and narratives that have not yet acquired meaning. The doll, with its almost ironic presence, reflects the fragile balance between innocence and the slow arrival of awareness, where carefreeness coexists with the first, subtle shadow of understanding.

On the Work
The newspaper is not treated as a simple surface detail, but as a second layer placed over the painted image. Charcoal lines intervene on top of the oil paint, tracing and at the same time disrupting the boundaries of the paper. This material tension creates a sense of instability, as if the content itself is being questioned or deconstructed at the very moment it appears.
