Crossing in the mourning

The roles she carries are many and demanding, and above all, socially imposed. How much can she bear? How much must she censor herself? She moves through the day carrying the cross of responsibility, treading the path of grief. She mourns that even now, after countless battles, she is forced to don armor for the impending fight. Each day is a negotiation between duty and vulnerability, strength and sorrow, yet she continues, unwavering, confronting the challenges imposed by society and circumstance.

Notes on the Work

A tie, a child’s bag, a phone. All fragments of a complete story. I could say this is perhaps the most realistic painting I have created to date. I’m not sure what accounts for this, perhaps the fact that I personally knew the model, or that it was created for a specific thematic exhibition titled “Working Woman in Today’s Society,” where I wanted to convey even the smallest detail to the viewer.
